Bera’s lead widens in race for California’s 7th Congressional district

ELK GROVE, CA - This afternoon, the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters announced that Dr. Ami Bera increased his lead against Dan Lungren in the race for California’s 7th Congressional seat. Bera is now ahead by 2.2% and leads by 5,696 votes. Bera's lead has widened with each new count.
Dr. Bera offered the following comment:
“It's increasingly clear that the voters of Sacramento County want new leadership that puts the people first. Our lead continues to widen and we are confident that this election will be resolved in our favor. The people at the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters have exemplified fairness and transparency throughout this process.”
Dr. Bera is a lifelong Californian and a first generation American who's running for Congress in California's 7th Congressional District. His candidacy has been endorsed by President Bill Clinton and the Sacramento Bee. According to the Wall Street Journal, his campaign is "seen by political experts as one of the nation's most competitive." Dr. Bera and his wife Janine live in Elk Grove with their 15-year old daughter.
