  • Bill Clinton to headline rally for Democrat Ami Bera

    By Christopher Cadelago

Former President Bill Clinton will return to the Sacramento region Wednesday to headline a rally for Democratic congressmen running in a pair of closely watched contests.

Clinton is scheduled to appear with Democratic Reps. Ami Bera of Elk Grove and John Garamendi of Walnut Grove at the 12:30 p.m. event on the campus of the University of California, Davis. The former president attended a similar rally on behalf of Bera, Garamendi and others on the same campus in 2012.

  • Main Street veers off course with Bera attack piece

    By Christopher Cadelago

Defending Main Street SuperPac, an outside group spending money to support Rep. Doug Ose’s campaign against freshman Rep. Ami Bera, has produced a door hanger carrying deceptive messages about the incumbent’s position on water and his decade-old title while working for Sacramento County.

The political action committee, which has reported spending $130,000 on Ose’s behalf through Friday, is associated with the centrist Republican Main Street Partnership. Ose has been a member of the partnership and served on its board.

  • Veterans' Vision 2014 Endorsements: Congressman Ami Bera (D-CA 7)

While working as a medical doctor, Congressman Bera was able to personally see the tremendous sacrifices that servicemen and women have made. Because of this, he has made it his mission to help them as a Member of Congress. He co-authored and helped to pass the Doctors Helping Heroes Act to shorten wait times at VA hospitals by addressing the shortage of doctors, pushed for comprehensive audits of the VA, and sponsored the Veteran Employment Transition Act, which takes a numberof crucial steps to make sure veterans can find work while encouraging employers to hire veterans.

  • OUTSIDE GROUP ATTACKS GROW INCREASINGLY OUTLANDISH IN ATTEMPT TO DISTRACT FROM CONGRESSMAN OSE'S RECORD

In the most ridiculous attack yet by a Washington D.C. interest group, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is trying to save Congressman Ose's failing campaign by distorting Dr. Ami Bera's clear record of refusing Congressional perks.

  • Vice President Biden endorses Ami Bera

Today Vice President Joe Biden, who has a long, distinguished career as an advocate for the middle class, endorsed Representative Ami Bera for his work on behalf of Sacramento County families.

  • NEW AD EXPOSES OSE'S ANTI-WOMEN RECORD

The Bera for Congress campaign released a new ad today, a 30-second commercial called "Backwards."

The ad exposes former Congressman Doug Ose's anti-women record, including his stances against giving women access to birth control, and against a woman's right to make her own personal health choices.

  • DOUG OSE RELEASES HYPOCRITICAL NEW AD, DESPERATE TO DISTRACT FROM OWN PARTISAN RECORD OF PUTTING SELF, WALL STREET OVER MIDDLE CLASS

Former Congressman Doug Ose is out with a new ad that is full of misleading claims but short on accomplishments because he doesn't want to talk about his failed record in Congress.

"Former Congressman Ose voted with his political party a shocking 94% of the time and turned a record surplus into a record deficit," said Bera spokesperson Allison Teixeira. "It's no surprise that Congressman Ose is desperate for Sacramento County voters to forget his partisan record of putting politics ahead of people and helping himself at the expense of middle class families."

  • AS CONGRESSMAN DOUG OSE ATTEMPTS TO SAVE FAILING CAMPAIGN WITH HIS OWN WEALTH AND DC SPECIAL INTEREST MONEY, DR. AMI BERA CONTINUES TO GAIN GRASSROOTS SUPPORT

After tripling his wealth in Congress, Congressman Doug Ose has now contributed more than $6 million of that fortune trying to return to Washington. His most recent filing, released last night, shows that he loaned his own campaign $716,000 in the last quarter alone.

  • OSE AND FRIENDS STEP UP DISHONESTY IN NEW ATTACK ADS

Washington D.C. interest groups continue to try to prop up former Congressman Doug Ose, who is desperate to distract from his record, by running deceptive attack ads against Dr. Ami Bera. The latest from the National Republican Congressional Committee’s (NRCC) is particularly outrageous in its attempt to distort Bera’s clear record of championing No Budget No Pay, a law that says if Congress doesn't do its job, members shouldn't get paid, and of voting for the bipartisan Murray Ryan Budget agreement.

  • ICYMI: THE SACRAMENTO BEE ENDORSES DR. AMI BERA

The Sacramento Bee has endorsed Dr. Ami Bera in the race for California's 7th Congressional District, writing, "for policy reasons and for the region’s future, Bera deserves to be returned to Congress for a second term." The Sacramento Bee's Editorial Board praised Bera's willingness to find bipartisan solutions to our nation's challenges, as well as his expertise as a doctor on health care issues, and his balanced views on addressing climate change and immigration reform.
