  • Reps. Ami Bera, Joe Crowley and Sen. Warner to Accompany Obama

    Rep. Ami Bera, co-chair of the House India Caucus, along with Sen. Mark Warner, co-chair of the Senate India Caucus, and Rep. Joe Crowley will join President Barack Obama on his three-day visit to India, beginning Jan. 25.

    At press time, the White House had not released the names of the Congressional delegation traveling with the president. Staffers for Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and former chair of the House India Caucus, could not confirm whether the congressman was also joining the delegation to India.

  • BERA STATEMENT ON NOVEMBER 19TH VOTE UPDATE FOR 7TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT RACE

    The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters announced today that Dr. Ami Bera has a 1432 vote lead over his opponent, with virtually all ballots counted.

    "It's been my honor serving this community as a doctor for the last nineteen years, and I am grateful I will have the opportunity to continue serving as the representative for California's 7th Congressional District in Congress."

  • BERA LEADS IN 7TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT RACE

    The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters announced today that Dr. Ami Bera is leading the race for the 7th Congressional District, with a 697 vote lead over his opponent.

    "I am confident after the numbers released today," said Dr. Ami Bera. "We need to continue to let the Registrar count the remaining ballots, and we know once all votes are tallied, we will win this election."

    The vast majority of ballots remaining to be counted are provisional ballots. In both 2010 and 2012, those same types of ballots significantly favored Bera.

  • BERA TAKES THE LEAD IN 7TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT RACE

    The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters announced today that Dr. Ami Bera took the lead in the race for the 7th Congressional District, picking up 1241 votes over his opponent. He now leads by 711 votes.

    "On Election Day, I said that I was confident we'd win this election and I'm encouraged by the numbers released today," said Dr. Ami Bera. "We need to let the Registrar continue to count the remaining ballots, and we're excited to see what the final margin will be."

  • BERA MAKES BIG GAINS IN TOO CLOSE TO CALL RACE

    The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters announced today that Dr. Ami Bera picked up 1,653 votes over his opponent, and is now down by just 530 votes. With many votes left to tally, the race for California's 7th Congressional District is still too close to call.

  • 79,000 BALLOTS LEFT TO COUNT IN SACRAMENTO COUNTY; BERA MAKING GAINS IN TOO CLOSE TO CALL RACE FOR 7TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

    The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters announced today that 79,000 ballots remain to be counted throughout the county, with Dr. Ami Bera picking up 828 votes over his opponent. With many votes left to tally, the race for California's 7th Congressional District is still too close to call.

    "The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters is doing a great job and we need to let them do their jobs and ensure every vote is counted," said Dr. Ami Bera. "Once that happens, I'm confident we have done what is needed to come out on top."

  • RACE FOR CALIFORNIA'S 7th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT REMAINS TOO CLOSE TO CALL, WITH TENS OF THOUSANDS OF VOTES TO BE COUNTED

    The race for California's 7th Congressional District is still far too close to call, with tens of thousands of vote by mail ballots and provisional ballots still left to count.

  • DESPERATE OSE RELEASES LAST MINUTE MISLEADING ATTACK

    In a last ditch attempt to mislead Sacramento County voters, former Congressman Doug Ose has released a new ad described by the Sacramento Bee as "mostly misleading." The Ose campaign makes the completely unfounded claim that Dr. Bera has made millions while serving in Congress, but fails to acknowledge that former Congressman Ose, not only made at least $100 million when he was in Congress, but has also spent more than $2 million of that money trying to buy a return to Washington.
