  • California's Ami Bera Doesn't Blend in on Capitol Hill, and That's OK

    By: Emily Cadei

Rallying volunteers at his campaign headquarters in Elk Grove, California, Congressman Amerish “Ami” Bera sounds like any other So Cal bro. The lifelong Californian speaks with the laid-back lilt of a surfer, so common in his native Los Angeles County.

A surfer, though, he is not. In fact, Bera is a prominent Sacramento-area doctor, the only Indian-American in Congress and, this fall, fighting to keep his suburban 7th District seat in one of the nation’s most competitive races.

  • NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO PRESERVE SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE ENDORSES DR. AMI BERA

Citing his record of standing up for seniors as a doctor and in Congress, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM) endorsed Dr. Ami Bera today in the race for California's 7th Congressional District.

  • Ami Bera Introduces Bill to Block Delta Tunnel Funding

    By: Allen Young

Democratic Rep. Ami Bera of Elk Grove has introduced legislation to block federal funding in fiscal 2015 for the Delta tunnels project. According to Bera, state officials have asked the federal government for $4 billion to help finance the $25 billion project.

The Bay Delta Conservation Plan “will cost taxpayers billions, and hurt countless farmers and small businesses in our region. We must stop this misguided plan and continue to fight for real bipartisan solutions,” Bera said in a statement.

  • FORMER CONGRESSMAN OSE UNSURE WHETHER HE SUPPORTS FUNDING TWIN TUNNELS

WAS AGAINST FUNDING BEFORE HE WAS FOR IT

After failing to oppose a radical partisan water grab bill to send more water out of Sacramento County in the midst of a historic drought, former Congressman Doug Ose is now also opposing a bill that would block the federal government from funding the Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP). The BDCP would build twin tunnels under the delta to send even more water from our region south and cost taxpayers at least $25 billion.

  • FORMER CONGRESSMAN OSE CONTINUES TO HIDE BEHIND OUTSIDE GROUPS THAT SUPPORT HIS AGENDA TO PRIVATIZE SOCIAL SECURITY

The American Action Network (AAN) announced yesterday that it will be spending $750,000 to attack Dr. Ami Bera throughout Sacramento County, highlighting his opponent former Congressman Doug Ose's continued reliance on outside funding to support his radical agenda. Doug Ose has yet to air an ad for the 2014 General Election and as of the last reporting period trailed Bera by more than $1.8 million in cash on hand. However, since the June primary, Washington interest groups have reserved nearly $3,300,000 in ads to attack Bera and attempt to prop up Ose in Sacramento County.

  • OSE HIDES BEHIND ANOTHER SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP TO COVER UP RECORD VOTING TO PRIVATIZE SOCIAL SECURITY, HELP WALL STREET INSTEAD OF SACRAMENTO COUNTY

Once again, former Congressman Doug Ose is hiding behind misleading attacks from a special interest group backing him because of his record of voting to privatize Social Security. Doug Ose has not aired a single television ad in the 2014 General Election and trailed Dr. Bera by nearly $1.8 million in cash on hand as of the last reporting period.

  • ROVE GROUP RELEASES NEW HYPOCRITICAL ATTACK AD

INSTEAD SHOULD TURN ATTENTION TO OSE'S RECORD OF RECKLESS SPENDING

Karl Rove's shadowy attack group Crossroads GPS is at it again, trying to prop up Rove's friend, former Congressman Doug Ose, by running an outrageous, hypocritical ad about Dr. Ami Bera's record. The ad blames Bera for our country's debt, when the truth is that Bera's opponent former Congressman Ose voted to grow the debt exponentially while he was in Congress.

  • ICYMI: The Sacramento Bee says Karl Rove's attack ads are misleading
