"I'd poke your head out there and look at the level of enthusiasm," he said from his campaign office in Carmichael, pointing to the roughly 30 volunteers calling voters in the next room. "Then take a drive over to Dan Lungren's, or the Republicans' campaign office. There's no enthusiasm gap when you look at that."
