Elk Grove, CA—The California Nurses Association and National Nurses Organizing Committee has endorsed Dr. Ami Bera for Congress in California’s third district.

“The CNA/NNOC is thrilled to endorse Dr. Ami Bera for Congress,” said Malinda Markowitz, Co-President of CNA.  “Nurses increasingly feel they cannot take care of patients the way they deserve.  Dr. Bera’s background as a physician gives him excellent perspective on delivering quality health care to patients.  We look forward to working with him to further reform our health care system.”

Dr. Bera received this endorsement for his commitment to a health care system that provides compassionate and essential coverage.

“I am very pleased to have the support of the California Nurses Association and National Nurses Organizing Committee,” said Dr. Bera.

The former Associate Dean of Admissions at UC Davis, Bera has gained much support for his grassroots campaign. With a spot on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s highly competitive Red to Blue program and enormous fundraising success, the campaign is in great shape.

Bera, 45, is a lifelong Californian whose parents emigrated to the U.S. from India over 50 years ago. He and his wife, Dr. Janine Bera, have been residents of Elk Grove, CA for over 15 years and have a 12-year old daughter, Sydra.
